TAX STATUS NOTICE
PLWC has formally applied to the IRS for recognition as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and that application is currently under review. Because we filed well within the 27-month window following our formation, IRS rules provide that once our exemption is granted, it will apply retroactively to our date of formation — meaning donations made now, while our application is pending, will be treated as fully tax-deductible from the date they were given, to the same extent as if our exemption were already in place. We encourage donors to keep records of any gifts made during this period, and, as with any charitable contribution, to consult their own tax advisor regarding deductibility.
